Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

New employee

After going through a layoff with my last job, I thought I'd get on here prior to taking this one. Are there really a lot of layoffs here? I'm going to be working in the customer service department. And I'm a little worried now.

Ah Batman, the vigilante justice of Bruce Wayne, an elitist CEO of a muliti billion dollar company....and then complains about those same people in every post made. If you don't like the company, the work, the leadership, or that paycheck then go find another job. Maybe JP, Amazon, or some other corporate giant would take you. But then again you'd probably spend a month before feeling slighted in some way and they will become the new devil to you. Find somewhere else to work or shut the f up. Maybe go find a non profit to cry to. Feel free next time the paycheck comes around to say no thanks. Companies layoff workers, it happens. Business line goes away or is not profitable changes have to be made. This isn't socialism. UHG is not a welfare program.

Don't look for WARN notices coming from UHG, they don't happen. If they exist, you need to search for the notices based on whatever smaller company UHG bought and whatever State that smaller company registered as their HQ or doing business out of.

Batman lost all credibility with me. Railing against the company providing his paycheck andfeeding his family. Don't sh-- in your own backyard.

Keep your options opened. This is from someone who started in March and was notified at the end of July via group conference call HR. There was no compassion or sensitivity in the manner in which it was done. Just an "expect a package" in the mail tomorrow and return it signed if you are so inclined. No assistance was provided to reacclimate back into the company except for a consult with a 3rd party which had no means to help you actually find a job back with UHC.

Robin is a mo--n who probably works in HR Direct. Batman has many hobbies. Batman tells the truth which is something that the Kool-Aid drinkers like Robin are trained not to do. Batman does work for UNH. Batman proudly engages his First Amendment Rights. Robin is mentally blocked. Just because something is presumably “common” doesn’t mean that it is fair, reasonable, or legal. Robin enjoys being led by stooges and saying Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes! That’s because bonus time is around the corner. Let’s all hope that Robin has said Yes enough times so as not to end up on Judy’s August 30th list. Robin, we are rooting for you. You sound dumb enough to be a UNH keeper! Definitely an HR Direct flunky!

I joined your department last November (2017), yet my position was eliminated this June...a sweet short 8 months of honeymoon for me. This is my first job out of college.

Batman needs a hobby. One moment/post he's saying how ASO's are tanking.. the next whining about ACO's. ACO's are common now. Get used to your health being coordinated, tracked and trended to save money. The worst part is that it appears this sad sack is still employed by UHC.

There will be opportunities in the Clinical Management Transformation Segment. This is almost comical. Employers gave UNH a sum of money for their employee’s health expenses. Through poor management, nastiness, and outright fraudulent schemes, UNH managed to alienate the employees. This is the opposite of what the employers intended. So Amazon, Berkshire and JP Morgan will remake this the right way. What does UNH do? They have something cheaper - an ACO. In an ACO things get paid for and they bleed the provider and hospital into bankruptcy. The Pacificare creeps are already in place working this new scheme. This is the Medicare Advantage scheme in reverse. The Chief C---roach is already getting this rolling. Good work Judy - Go rot in Hell!

Yes there are many layoffs. Size up your manager. If your manager is a pathological liar then make other plans. They won’t fire you in your first year since they are looking for a return on your training. Here is some bad news: Your Manager can only get a bonus by lowering head count. You are now in the Land of Charles Darwin not The Land of Oz. The managers Eat What They Kill! By August 30th, a tentative list is being drawn up to begin a round of layoffs on November 30th. No WARN notices will be given because UNH is not law abiding. So enjoy your Honeymoon! You have joined an Organization with an Unusual Culture!
