I had no idea we had a site in Allentown. What exactly were they doing there?

A bunch in Allentown are getting laid off this month (August). They wish it were ACT. Those who got ACT two years ago got sweet deals. Now, they get a terrible deal -- less than half what they gave the ACT folks two years ago.

You get one week pay for each year of service plus $4500 in your HSA account.

These people also had to train Chinese engineers to do their job. How about that? That's a fine send-off.

Confirmed ACT in Jan 2018; confirmed ACT last year Nov; confirmed ACT last summer; confirmed someone has nothing better to do than start rumors.

iCDG germany will probably be cut down to size and important tasks will be moved to US.

US management is tired of hearing complaints from little children.

Hopefully, enough get cut to reach a goal of 70K in order to make profit/capital in line with remainder of industry.

Nothing happens until at least a quarter after the new CEO starts. If the CEO is an internal candidate, then we should just start a new thread since that is more of a 52-card pick-up.

No strong leader left to do big layoff. Even Bob Swan has chickened out.

August/September for layoffs. Should be 10-20k. Hopefully fabs will be separated from other Intel, but that won't happen for at least a year.

10nm is not here. There are going to be huge implications in 2019 because of this, meaning 'hard decisions' will be made. The board will protect margins, even as it selects incompetent CEOs. When will AB vacate the board, how much damage is enough?

I hereby request that we of the ‘layoff’ board refer to the next round of ACT as ‘Clown-mageddon’ y’all. Thoughts???
