Craig as CEO spent and spent and spent on companies without the manpower of qualified people to make the companies go...
Paul as CEO promoted his field buddies, brought in a new culture, and hired and promoted based on s-x (female preferred ) and race ( which means no white guys) versus merit. The field buddies were brought in to run the company, but had very little strategic skills besides taking orders for CPUs...come up with unbuildable product roadmaps and blamed the engineers for not delivering their dreams.. He changed the value system...your not a team player means you do not do what I want you to do, you are to confrontive means I do not really care what you think, your not aggressive means you do not buy into new ways without going through a detail risk taking analysis...then he goes and hires a bunch of people based on s-x, and where their families were from, not on engineering merit....and then he promotes these people ahead of those who worked their butt off....
BK, a guy whos background is copy exactly...which is not a good training ground on how to innovate only knows production wafer fab gets the nod to run the ship....
What was the executive board thinking.....
Well, they have run the ship into the shore,,,it is taking water on quickly.
Intel was the ultimate engineering company with solid managers is now the ultimate power point company with managers who do not know their job...
The engineering talent has left, and product launches are going to slip and slip and slip...
And people are surprised that it is in trouble....
I blame all three, Craig, Paul and BK...they really lost track of quality engineering, what products people want, and how to treat people fairly...
