I know this place is terrible at actually explaining anything to employees, but I am surprised none of you seem to have bothered to try to understand what Digital Transformation actually is.
Digital Transformation is the IT world's latest marketing technique.
What it means is that whilst a client might have moved to IT since the 1990's, their systems are a mismatched pile of stuff and some elements might need refreshing.
Effectively you need to throw away all your old junk and root and branch replace the entire lot with modern systems - not piecemeal, the whole lot.
Once you have done that, you can benefit from modern IT, the one where systems are able to exchange data with each other rather than keep storing non-identical copies of it.
Its a risky strategy and its one which I believe no sizeable company has actually managed to achieve despite spending hundreds of millions.
As I said, excellent marketing for IT companies in the face of product stagnation.
