Pearson Goal Achiever Awards

Did Pearson give out Goal Achiever awards to reps with negative sales goals again? Is this the only way that they can try to entice people to stay in their dying company? How was yesterday's prom? Lots of drinking and fine dining? For a company that isn't doing well, Pearson has no problem blowing money on partying.

When we were on gross sales reps were notorious for giving the bookstores wrong ISBNS on purpose just so the bookstore would have to send back and reorder. Also heard several stories of reps intentionally damaging inventory so the bookstores would send back and reorder. Lots of reps selling to book brokers intentionally, too. Those reps got rep of the year, top performer, LC, etc. Pearsons biggest awards and awards trips based on completely fabricated numbers. Let that sink in. Management cheered them on the whole way, too.

The other big 4 sales groups have switched from gross to net long ago. The custom group at Pearson was on net long ago. I was once asked to put more books into production despite the fact that their we're already more books than enrollment already in the three stores. I actually got a call from a DM to rush those books into production. Didn't happen.

Negative goal is a negative goal- just because you've gone from Gross to Net doesn't change that. What company EVER goes off gross sales anyway! No wonder Pearson is tanking.

The Goal Achievers ALWAYS cracks me up. It's base on false, bloated numbers- reps that sell to book brokers, or if they have a new bookstore open (lucky), DDA, etc. Those are things that the reps just fall into. And then they win all the big awards and get to essentially lie about their affect on sales in their territory on their resume. Pearson really is the most jacked up company. I've never worked for a company who literally cannot tell you your numbers until I came here. It's why I am looking to leave- what a racket.

You obviously are misinformed greatly about what a negative goal even means. You might want to look more closely Into our company's finances.

Funny that people or person in SD is spending time posting on this site. Says volumes about this bully. Put that energy into your job and maybe, just maybe, Pearson will actually turn a profit. Do YOUR JOB!

Did they do a moment of silence for all of those who were laid off? Or better yet, did they recognize them if they were a goal achiever and then said they would have their award sent to them?

The cheerleader always lets these posts get the best of her LOL. She loves calling the posters stupid and other juvenile names.

Sorry, cheerleader doesn’t offend me—though stupid should offend you.

You’re the one that is working for an employer that you clearly are not happy with. Why not leave? Too stupid to get rehired elsewhere? (Answer: likely)
