Entire Lowell office is canned. Ryan was there to personally do the deed.

Lowell office on chopping board for years, No surprise to close Lowell office.
The Boston office will be temporary--probably a year or two. There were indeed some smart people in Lowell, but it wasn't the only place where there were smart people. I don't think Lowell was necessarily a 'smarter' office pound for pound than any of the other offices--but it was a top-heavy office with disproportionately senior roles. Must've been expensive. The question of when Lowell (not if) would get shut down has been asked for the last seven or so years.
Surprised it took this long to close the office. Expensive geography too far from west coast.
To the person who said it's about geography you are proven wrong as they are opening at least 1 Boston office now.
Who's left in the Lowell office?
What was the reason for shutting down Lowell? It just doesnt make sense. What's happening to the products and services which they own?
They were some of the smartest for their technology, no argument. But those days are passed. Now is the time for phone apps and UI devs. That's where the money is. San Jose and Seattle will be losing a lot of the old school folks soon enough.
@UkRbpT6-cih....deadwood? Lowell has some of the smartest engineers. If deadwood is the criteria then most of Seattle and SanJose is gone today as well. Its about cutting a remote stand-alone office (geography) and not about deadwood.
Not the entire Lowell office
Third round in under 12 months. Most of these people don't fit in with the plan though. Traditional network model is dead and cloud fail fast is the future. Axing some dead wood will allow F5 to get into the developer lease model where you have temporary employees churn product out nonstop.
It seems weird if you've been in the old model for ages, but this is the current way to make money, pump and dump.
