Is anybody's supervisor avoiding confrontation with bad employees right now? The office I work in has plenty of bad employees who do their own thing which in turn puts more work on the rest of us. Complaints are made but management does nothing. I get the feeling they are worried about their own cushy jobs.

Cliches are in every department and if you’re not part of the cliche it really doesn’t matter how hard you work. It’s a shame if you don’t run to the break room every morning with your Manager and stroke their ego, you are treated different than their favs. Weeks go by without Manager even speaking.
It’s a cesspool. Good ole boy network is thick as thieves. Best thing to do is to start looking elsewhere and leave ASAP. There is life after Windstream!
I know two things to be true.
1) managers are afraid to let anyone go because they may not be allowed to refill the position
2) at least my manager, a longtime director, has told me that they fear for their own job.
I know a director that needs to be fired right now for showing favoritism but reporting it does no good and he just keeps on and on stirring the sh-- pot. All the good employees are leaving. Can’t waiy to see his pets try and run the place. Gonna be funny as hell to watch. EG
I honestly think Windstream is about to write the next chapter in the telecommunications business... Chapter 11.
It's time to turn the page.... To chapter 11.
Windstream wrote the book on telecommunications too bad it ended on... Chapter 11.
I went through this in the past. I was told it's easier to keep on the dead weight rather than hire new or not get a requisition if the problem child leaves. Because of this 10 people left my team over 4 months. The real problem was our manager and director not wanting to confront the person and deal with the issues. I really wish we still had 360 reviews to call out all of the failures of my managers and directors, that would also give our VPs a reality check. I think when people are brutally honest it reigns things in a bit.
When we file for chapter 11 in a few weeks it will be a big wakeup call.
Some bad employees have good metrics as mentioned above. I don’t think it matters at this point because there are much bigger issues.
It’s probably because they know we will all be gone soon anyway so why stir the pot, this place is a sh-- show it’s not what you know or how hard you try , it’s like high school if you aren’t in the cliche you might as well forget it . Oh let’s fill some jobs that we don’t even post internally to protect my buddy , f--- this such a joke, go ahead and try to protect your friends from avoiding layoffs by giving them a new job if you think this is going to protect them your a freaking id--t , ride this sh-- show till the end haha
