Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

This will not work out

I've been wondering lately when the leadership of this company will realize that profit at all cost will destroy Schlumberger in the end, which will mean that nobody will get any profit at all, including them.

When you disregard everything else, especially your employees, how do you expect to continue operating successfully?

I think there is a fear to invest for the future the chief don’t need to worry about a pension since they have $Ms in the bank or stock. The don’t care about future beyond their annual options - selfish and narrow minded, Slb used to be long term investment now board wants short term highs and then burst

Leadership will always get their profit. They will sell their stock when it is still good value. Don't worry about them. If the CEO gets fired, he will have a nice golden parachute too.

SLB still benefit from old good reputation and some good products left from the past development.

But who knows how long this will last at the current state of operation?

Short term bonus structure for executive management is based only on revenue and profit

People are an expendable resource in SLB but those dumb a-- managers haven’t figured out how the company could improve its performance 10 times by truly harnessing the commitment and loyalty of the employees.

Sorry state of affairs
