Losing on the modem front

Looks like Qualcomm is kicking our behinds when it comes to modems in non-Android smartphones. I could try to pretend I'm shocked, but in all honesty I stopped expecting better a long time ago.

The incompetence of Infineon Wireless is legendary. They have a history of losing customers.

They had Samsung who saw how incompetent these people were and decided to sue them. They had apple as a customer but their incompetence resulted in death grip iphones, so apple left. Their incompetence led to them being sold off. These incompetents couldn't find a butt plug if it was stuck up their asses.

How many infineon wireless engineers does it take to screw in a light bulb ?

Only one, if the world revolves around them.

Otherwise, they will hire thousands of people to complain about the world not revolving around them.

@1gyd - Read the article, surely you can grasp the main points with your level of english comprehension.

crap that comes from Qualcomm and India -- > Q modem outperforms intel modem by a large margin. At least their crap is better than the sh-- you are making.

You seem to have a personal issue with India that you decide to bring it up alongside Q. Typical german attitude.

Why do you cover up your performance issues by complaining about others ? Grow up.

Infineon owned 4G - what a big joke. Infineon bought 4G. Infineon modem engineers couldn't build a mouse trap if they tried. There is a reason that Infineon sold you off to Intel.

ex-Q and indiatellers own 5G (Polaris) --> Very grown up of you calling people Indiatellers. How are your matlab on chip development efforts going in Munich and Nuremberg? Any progress or is it the usual case failing to deliver but trying to cover up your failures with complaints.

It was very difficult to integrate these infineon employees into Intel. They are experts at complaining but failures at delivering.

Just look at the performance of their modem vs Qualcomm. Year on year, the performance gap with Q keeps on increasing.

Efficient, work fewer hours, smarter are all excuses which get blown away when comparing their actual performance.

The ex-Infineon team always blames the US management and brags how smart they are, no need to work long hours etc. Whenever someone mentions the purchase of Infineon back in 2010/11, how Infineon nearly went bankrupt and they didn't have a 4G modem design etc, they always said you don't know anything about the deal.

Intel has thousands and thousands of people working on the modem and nobody in Intel knows what they do. --->

Its the ex-infineon employees who don't know how to build a product. These bumbling alcoholics have messed up every modem delivery. In 756x project, the number of respins needed showed that these so called engineers are nothing but over-paid amateurs.

These jack a**es should be thrown to the curb so that they can drink their beers while making sh--ty mistakes.

Q always beats intel. That is no surprise.

Intel engineers are so used to it that they have even given up trying. The difference between thr the generations i.e. x36x and x48x is marginal. Seems like Intel engineers chumped their customers by selling the same product twice with different names.

If you actually find non-nerd people who buy phones because „Hey, the modem is faster“, then I will be very surprised.

And that a near-monopolist that makes billions of Dollars from patent licensing, thus being able to push that money into R&D is „kicking our behinds“ is not surprising. Your „expecting better“ statement shows that you know zero about the modem business.
