Likely has to do with the AIX version IBM continues to support and the version of AIX the Vision product is certified for. All Tiger and Vision software modifications and testing are performed via contract with 3rd Party offshore company. Contract is limited at this stage of the game. Certifying these products on updated OS is probably not in the plan.

IBM still supports sells and support AIX.

It is Allscripts who elected to move backwards with a product that it too is not being moved forward.

Thank You but...

IBM did not stop support of AIX. it is still supported.

IBM still sells and supports AIX and servers. my husband's company just purchased several large AIX servers as well as Linux servers.

So was it a straight up swap?

Heavy discounted ?

Vision is an Allscripts product. It is AIX based and since IBM no longer supports it, they are moving the clients over. So its not a new install.
