Thread regarding Sears layoffs

How is the caf at hoffman these days

Going back some years I remember they had the sections for Italian, mexican, Asian, American, and the huge salad bar was great. And on the side there were fast food vendors including taco bell and Connors pizza....has this survived the rounds of layoffs ? Also do they still have the sample store ?

I’m curious about the sample store. Is it like a mini sears and Kmart store at corporate?

Yeah Panda Express and Sbarro are both still open. The cafe has the grill, salad bar, soups and one or two rotating restaurants. It’s like a ghost town compared to five years ago. There might be two cashiers if it gets really busy. Plenty of great parking is available these days even though at least one lot is completely blocked off.

The fast food section was closed around 2004 (or earlier--I don't recall exactly).

Some years ago, you could find really good food there. For a while now, it's been crappy; not even worth the time to go there.

Cafe is empty. Sample store still more expensive than Amazon.
