Thread regarding Sears layoffs

The Layoff Sears Board.

Not a single mention of inventory, AP issues, or staffing issues....

"TheLayoff.com is a simple discussion board for all of us who would like to learn more about the rumors or possibility of job cuts in our company.

The workforce reduction process is inherently secretive and plagued with rumors. Companies release little or no details while planning such resource actions. On the other hand, the lives of each of us may be greatly impacted by these top-secret decisions - hence all the anxiety that workers may experience."

@Ug8A5tU-2rgb They have not posted a single thing since and I am ok with that lol. Not used to someone standing up to the nonsense. I will post the link to Sears Chan if a new board gets set up . I said nothing about it being anyone's fault, there is nothing in the world that bothers me more than to see someone attempt to gain control of others in such a way. Someone wants conversations diverted back to pebble where SHLD can control the conversation, and the answer is nope. I simply alerted the OP that there are options that employees have beyond this forum and pebble. I have sent a request to 4 chan for a separate board on the forum. People would be able to speak completely freely without fear of reprisal, add images and do so without filters.

Aylwin would walk the halls of Hoffman and randomly stop in someones office and ask them to recite the corporate goals or whatever he had posted in every elevator cab. If you couldn't say them all, he'd ask for an apology to be sent via email.

Sure sounds like a God Complex. Compare that to the news stories of Eddie doing rants via video conference and telling people to never use the Customer word again. It's Members or your out.

Aren't we all glad that way of Management (that is an insult to any good managers in the world) has caused this great company to move upward and forward????

Martinez handed a CEO job to Lacy and Alan knew it was over his head. Scaring that he has no experience to run a behemoth retail he found a way out by selling Sears to Lampert. Lampert was high on being name the next Warren Buffet so he thought he could do anything. Lampert named his underling Kmart CEO Lewis to a newly formed company CEO job. Lewis was caught by a surprise to run such a legendary company. His background was just running a food chain and a short tenure at bankrupted Kmart. He was a great motivational speaker, talker you would say, not much of a doer or executor. To build morale and to build rapport between ranks and files he sent corporate workers who were highly paid to work jobs of lower paid staffs in the stores. It was not that good a result. Shortly after that he lost CEO job and went back to a new food chain company.

Was he the one that came up what stupid "sowing the seeds of our culture" junk? I think the only significant thing he did during his time was to give himself a multi-million dollar raise.

Yet another self absorbed person who thinks the whole world should act in accordance with their beliefs. "Do it my way, you are offending ME!" they sob.

Alywin's was one of those suit and tie types that talked alot but did not say much beyond corporate gibberish. Management in our store made all the associates go to the training room in groups of 25 at a time to watch videos of Alywin talking about his vision for the company.

Most of us came away from those meetings thinking Lewis was clueless and in way over his head.

Who is this OP?.....Alywin Lewis?.....Remember him? Appointed by Eddie to run the company but the sad thing about it is that Alywin's experience was in the food service industry.....which proved irrelevant in trying to run a department store business.....Aylwin turned out to be "All wind" and was soon tossed out of the company with a huge severance package.

A lot of what is being discussed on here that you say "shouldn't" be is tied in one way or another to the gradual decline of the company, which can be discussed on here per the FAQs. All the talk about the dumb decisions made by management, the cuts in hours, changes in store process, difficulty performing job duties because of those changes and so on--they all are the spawn of the slow, train wreck liquidation of this company. People learn on here that they are not alone and that all the stores are in the same predicament, and they share stories of all of the struggles and worries they are going through as a result of the mess the company is in.

This board is also for employees/former employees to vent and discuss problems at Sears....The poster that keeps trying to convince us to post this content on Pebble is simply wasting his/her time in the effort to attempt to impose his/her viewpoint upon the rest of us.
