Why is the leadership so determined to buy another company when they obviously can't even manage one properly?
Imagine all the possibilities for screw-ups with even more people, even more operations, even more everything... Sky would be the limit.

A large acquisition is a time honored way to obscure underlying financial performance. A slew of "one-off" charges and promised "synergies" will kick the can down the road one more time.

Agree with prior comment. There is no path to organic growth, IoT is not a money maker nor a segment that QCOM can compete in minus an acquisition. 5G is an expensive, ultra high-end handset with limited volume [Questionable use case]. Unlike 4G there will be plenty of competition from start, good chance Apple and Samsung will use their own modem and processor. What does that leave? Not much.
Yet another reorg in pdm with many business linea, Yawn! Octane shock has woken them up from deep slumber so reorg every 2 weeks.
One newly minted business leader was found at a competitor that used troll patents to shake down money some years ago. After getting fired from there came back to bloat the number of chips and opex.

Simple explanation.... CA and SM only know mobile phone business. They hoped buying another business would cover their inability to organically grow adjacent markets for QC. No nxp... no answers....
