Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

Sad days for JPM

What does it say about current state of JPM if an employee who has been here for close to three decades is praying to be laid off? Literally praying to be on that list that's going to be announced tomorrow or any of the following weeks.

It pains me to see this once great bank fall so low.

Entires departments are saturated with

Managers and have too few employees to perform the actual productive work, those employees understandable get burnt out and just end up leaving, "currently happening in Columbus and Tampa", or get placed on PIP and shown the door because of their inability to handle the work of 3-4 people.

JP RUNS ON 10 LAYERS OF MANAGEMENT RUNNING AROUND, soyns familiar? Our director is clueless about technology, Only 6% of board directors have professional technology experience. Technologists are second class citizens, this bank culture, denies any possible improvement You are to do what you told, forget about innovation, creativity is suppressed by these so called technology directors, LOL

Wow, I work in IT for another bank that has been in the news alot recently... but the previous message perfectly sums up my experience in IT. All interesting work shunted to India and stuck fixing legacy stuff. Time and time again told the next project is ours, etc only to be made a fool again.

I can't believe how terrible it has gotten, where once there were so many opportunities. xxxk employees and not a SINGLE position open for anything less than 'senior' with 5+ years of experience. I doubt it's even possible for a stateside employee to gain that experience there anymore, which just perpetuates the outcome. Ditto on the politics.

I would also agree on the personality defects. After 11 years in various IT roles, I can't wait to finally get my papers and hopefully take some time to soothe some of the damage this experience. I'm grateful that I'll even be afforded that opportunity, and realize that others have far worse lots in life.

If you like backstabbing, politics and nepotism, this is the place for you, I heard Jamie Dimon once had a fight in the reception area at the Victoria Embankment office. My time at JP Morgan worked on a dull legacy projects, patching up old programming code, with no chance to do anything new or interesting. My soul was s---ed out of me.

It's fair to say that MOST of the IT staff and Female managers who have been there for 15+ years have severe personality defects and would not be able to find a job elsewhere.

at JPM chase if you have been here 3 decades you will get 60 weeks or more of pay. If you are ready to retire wait for the package and leave with a bang

In reality your own manager may not know that you are leaving. This is a long used practice used by HR, and Risk management to get rid of people based on their specific forecast models, and thresholds.
