. The program served as a means to weed out older higher paid workers at store level.

Wow, I was a QMT but retired 1 year ago it's funny they still use energy as a metric. Can you say beat a dead horse.

We lost so many customers because our store was too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. Dimming the lights didn't help either. We used to joke that the lights were dimmed so customers couldn't see how dingy the store looked, and that the one-touch plan to push all stockroom merchandise to the floor was so that they could turn off all the lights in receiving. You felt like you were working in a cave. I don't blame the QMTs as they were only doing their job, but man, those energy cuts really, really hurt our business.

There are a few of us still out here in the west. You are right about the job. Nothing has change energy is all we do. Stores are now complaining that we cost them money.

Do they still have QMT's? I was cut in 2016 and the last QMT in my area quit in 2017 and is now working with me at another company. I do not believe there are any QMT's left in my state. What is the purpose of a QMT now days if there are any left? We were not allowed to fix anything because we were not allowed to spend any money. Our main job was to cut energy. Make sure areas were dark and no one added any light bulbs and make sure the store was cold in the winter and hot in the summer.
