Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

It is a shame to work at Dell or Dell EMC ....

I guess only folks who are unable to compete in the market are left over here. Rotten work culture, r----ded managers who do not understand a bit of technology, bootlickers, people charmers are the backbone of the workforce. They work with an understanding - you do me a favor and I will return you one. Bonus, promotions, awards all are politically attached to charmers who shines manager's boot day in and day out. There is no merit system. You want to keep your job, you do the same. If you have not done so in your entire life/career how would you do it now here at Bell-EMC? In papers they have written down lots of policy but who would implement them? People charmer from top to bottom! If you attend all hands you must have heard JK saying proudly "We all have favorites...." such a shame... that is their standard of corporate governance. Just watching how far Michael can take these people charmer and to what height.... If I am not mistaken doomsday are not far. You can't sell sour mango time and again... investor will not buy!

The problem with Indian born engineers are, in the southern belt there are 100's of engg colleges who give degree for money. Students get seat by paying donation not on merit and these 3rd grade degree holders are polluting the industry. The craze for engineering is not because students love science or STEM but for getting 'dowry' money. If you don't have a degree in engineering/medicine you won't command million rupees as dowry. So you can imagine what grade of manpower you are getting from these institutes. Most good MNC's don't even talk to students outside Tier-1 (IIT) Tier-2(NIT) and Tier-3 (Govt owned state colleges) for these reasons. Who take them they become Dell-EMC !!!

Lame directors and Senior Directors in Dell IT and E-Dell. All of these comes from a particular community ( South Indian - Telegu and Tamil group ) Or Latino. They all getting cut from the Dell Vendors and hire more and more contractors. Just Pick any Manager or Director in E-Dell or in Dell IT and you will find all there relatives working in some or other groups, Some placed their spouses without any computer degrees into a Technical Project manager roles. You hardly find any good technical people in Dell who is actually writing code, And Dell really dont need that kind of talent cause all it believe in outsourcing rather than developing their own, that way all higher management can make more money through preferred vendors.

Well, good people make great organizations, not good organizations make great people. Dell will get the result of the seed they sow.

this is very true. after Dell turned an emotionally engaged workforce that cared into purely an economic transaction, many of us are here because "it makes economic sense", only.

call it american greed.

the backbones are that one two analysts in each team doing most of the damn works and teaching consultants, managers, and directors how to do their damn jobs. Not the charmer, those are just smoke screens where the id--ts execs consume on daily basis due to deteriorating competence. People are just woke and leaving. It is still a great place to nest if you have influential family in here. Basic nepotism.
