Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Closings

If your store is still receiving signs , banners, etc

Is that a good sign your not next to close?

What if your store is filing still lead and management position is that a good sign?

All our “ blowout” signs came down two weeks ago I think due to the 125th Anniversary

We are back to Res signage only which looks so much nicer!

Sears holdings. Not Sears. Writings been on the wall for 10+ years.

Everything is for sale. Nothing is safe

We hired people during liquidation. Many people quit when our store was announced as closing and they liquidatore said we needed to hire more people. Many of us quit and came back at twice the hourly rate, working for the liquidator not SHC.

They announced my store closure in November of last year, so they CAN announce closures during the holiday season. We received holiday signage even though we were in liquidation, and ended up sending it to neighboring stores. Stores will keep filling positions as long as they are open, and once you liquidate you will fill any FT spots with whoever you have that is able to work.

@1rbo You are absolutely right. We were a "SAFE" store and now we are in liquidation and set to officially close next month. Someone else wanted the space and Seritage sold it. The liquidator said more closings are coming this year. Keep your fingers crossed everyone.

There ARE no "safe" stores. They will ALL be closed.

If you survive September's wave of closings, then you'll be safe until January. They don't like to announce closings around the holidays.

@USfBCEq-zdg Why must you act like a jerk when someone is genuinely curious about something?

@USfBCEq You are really stupid aren't you. They order signs and banners for all the stores so it doesnt matter if you close store dont need 2 sets of them. No one knows until a week before its announced so why would they stop hiring. And PS your store is closing the next round in Sept
