Thread regarding Change Healthcare layoffs

Outsourcing mania at Change Healthcare

Before the end of the year Change Healthcare is going to continue it's outsourcing mania. As far as I know my support teams are going to be all transitioned to India. All RelayHealth product will be supported from overseas. I have been a director in support for over 10 years - I have never seen anything like this across the entire company. Unless you are wanting to get severance, you need to leave now. There isn't a job title for individual contributor they won't outsource. This company is poison.

Bumped from @UhYTcxC-rvpb for info.

This company seems determined to eliminate the best talent. Developers are being rushed through projects to 'dumb down' processes in order to be handed over to lower-paid employees. This is a great plan for fiscal downsizing, but feels very much like a ramped-up effort to outsource nearly all positions outside of management. While other tech companies are improving their working conditions and benefits to lure the very best people, this company does the opposite. Social experiment? I can't wait to see the results, and I predict they will fall far short of expectations. We have all been in situations where we have changed service providers for cell, internet, etc., because of poor (or unintelligible) support. Change Healthcare's customers are no different. No doubt this will come back to bite them - HARD. By then, those of us with years of healthcare IT experience will have moved on to companies with a realistic, long-term vision of corporate growth, and Change Healthcare will become the pariah of the healthcare field. Take heart, pendulums swing both ways. It's just a waiting game.

Why do they keep so many managers, directors while laying off so many people who are billable? It doesn't make sense, unless they truly are just getting rid of products and services and need the talking heads to cover the transition tasks then they will be eventually be let go too.

The last comment is "exactly" on the nose. McKesson with the bad press from the opioid issues didn't want yet a "2nd black eye" so they just pushed off the entire Technology Division out of their company portfolio. Let someone else deal with letting 30,000 plus resources go - McKesson couldn't handle that. So they parceled out all the companies, some go here, others went there and with each breakup hundreds of employees let go, the lucky ones are the ones that got let go in first round at least their packages were paid by McKesson (2 weeks per year). Now those of us under this disgrace of a company will be lucky if they even pay anything. Yes, folks better get wise, CHC is not a company that wants "employees" they don't care if people quit good or not. They want contractors and more specifically drones. Honestly do not see how this company can market themselves as a leader or innovator when all the bright minds are jumping ship. The IPO (if it ever happens) will be a joke as they won't have any more customers....

I have to agree. I've held many jobs in both corporations and mom and pop operations, and I have never worked for a company that professes so loudly to care about its people, while making decisions that destroy employee morale at the same time. I keep my resume up to date, because I know this is not a long-term job. CHC has lost some brilliant players because of their inefficiency and the constant threat of layoffs. It will be interesting to see where they end up in the healthcare market. Offshoring of support has been a dealbreaker in sales calls that I have been on. Most companies know that foreign support is the quickest way to lose customers. My advice to jobseekers - LOOK ELSEWHERE

Is that scheduled for the end of the calendar year or the fiscal year?

They can't even get our payroll correct after months. How do you think they'll ever understand healthcare? Customers have a choice and will not stay.

I guess McK couldn’t take the bad press of massive layoffs after the opiod debacle, so they put it under the guise of a separate company before swinging the axe. Pretty smart actually..
