SWN has some of the worst management I've ever seen, so unless you get a job working for the government I would think that would be easily the case.
The best thing for people at SWN is to have a bad boss. I mean a really bad boss! That way when you get your new job, your boss will be a remarkable improvement.
If you're that worried about being laid off, then take the message of the OP in the spirit with which it was written. Find another job before the end of the year. Just because SWN signs your checks right now, doesn't mean you owe them anything. Start looking now so that you're not caught flat footed when (not if) another round of layoffs happen.

My spouse lost their job and we need income to keep our home and feed our kids. This site is no joke so please stop
