4 Women Who Make a Difference in Blockchain

At IBM, women run the show, from the general manager of blockchain Marie Wieck to her boss Bridget

van Kralingen, to CEO Ginni Rometty. “We have the blockchain sisters at IBM,” says spokeswoman Holli

Haswell.

Lovely. Although, much less like a sisterhood and more so like a coven.

Businesses who chose leaders based on gender and not skills will all soon fail, look no further than yahoo. Marissa Meyer was a brilliant computer scientist but had no business leading a company.

My experience is more like the first commenter. I’m openly le---an and I am constantly belittled by my management. Where is this alleged effort to promote us? I’m not seeing it.

Glad I left IBM...only path to promotion is being a woman or LGBTQ....

But let’s face it IBM is slowly going down the toilet anyway. Watson was smoke and mirrors, Cloud is well....err...umm...no comment...even the newer hires are frustrated and we’re leaving...

As a first line manger, the first line in my performance plan the last several years has been “ Acitvely promote women and minorities:” I have been forced to promote women over others when they had lesser skills. There is a culture of blatant s-xism - in favor of women at this stage. Ginni has promoted this approach since becoming CEO.

“to create a community of champions of both women and men who proudly support women in STEM.”

I’d like to see this community, given that in my two years at IBM I have experienced some of the worst blatant s-xism of my entire career. So glad to be leaving soon.
