Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

End is near

Management is suddenly requesting lots of studies to be completed by the end of the month for unspecified reasons. Expect lot of announcements during the next four weeks. Managers will be shuffled, people will be layed off.

Great! Of course, Intel management would never really consider boosting the careers of those employees overperforming. Mandatory Focals are just needed to pin down those the management want gone and they are not necessarily poor performers, just those who resist the current system. Anyhow 40 K employees need to be laid off over next few years with no sizable rehiring.

@1oea - VPG is not even called VPG anymore.

the mandatory midyears are likely precursors to performance-based layoffs. HR is likely trying new techniques since they massively screwed up on the last few headcount reduction actions. This is probably an extension of the self-acclaimed MAI class.

More formalized mid-year exercises are happening. Also strange data collection efforts going on. These are signs of something coming.

Yeah, many projects are now being evaluated. The management has a decision to make which ones to kill. Preparing for layoffs.

I’ve seen far more mandatory midyears this year. Just an observation.
