Employee Spying

How do they spy on the employees?

Are there keyloggers?

Do they steal facebook, hotmail, linkedin, yahoo, gmail passwords?

Do they record keystrokes?

Do they remotely log into the screen to spy on what you are doing? Beside ence (EnCase), what else do they have?

How do managers spy on employees? Are they trained?

How does HR spy on employees?

Do they have a remote connect tool and dashboard?

This post is stupid. How about you just do your job? If you owned a business you’d want to know what your employees are doing as well. You can always leave for a role that doesn’t require too much technology since you’re so paranoid... the world needs ditch diggers!

If you're at work, whether WFH or at a site, you are on their network, using their resources, on their time.

It's not spying on you if network monitoring notices you logging onto sites/services during work which you should not be.

There are a lot of things to hate on Honeywell for, but monitoring their networks and busting employees doing things they should not be doing is not one of them. Especially if an employee is stupid enough to make it easy for them by doing it on Honeywell's network.

You get busted for this kind of thing, it's no one's fault but yours.

I am retired but when I was there when you logged on they told you nothing you did on the company system was private (and you acknowledged it by signing on) so what is the surprise?

Best thing to do is find a good hiding spot and use your own data. The bean counters and corporate spies can review all the PC data they want. The real problem is the overwhelming amount of factory workers who work unsupervised and take advantage of it. Most ISC supervisors have 30 to 40 direct reports working multiple shifts.

Yes most of what they gather is done so forensicly, if they suspect anyone is a problem, they will pull data to support their case to terminate you. But 1guy was watching p##n on his phone at his desk, then fell asleep, and a woman walked by.....end of story/job. There are very few women at H##ell, but all it takes is one.

They are interested in everything. They monitor this site for rumors and don’t tell managers anything anymore. It’s the paranoid dictator mentality.

You would all be amazed if you knew the tools the company has invested in and what they are capable of. Think beyond Symantec. You would also be amazed how may people in IT and security have access to these tools..... so pay a "schmuck"...no think hundreds of people with this access as part of their regular job.

Realistically though ... with all the budget tightening they claim to be doing would they actually pay some schmuck to sit around and review what someone is typing or what web page someone is going to? I can understand some kind of notification in case someone goes to the wrong web site (p--n). But, someone that watches what web page you go to? Really?

However, it never hurts to be safe and use your personal cell phone to surf the web.

Look at all the Symantec software they have running on your pc at work. All that isn’t just for antivirus scanning. Yes, they monitor all the web sites that you go to on your work pc.

I have always believed they are more worried about transmission of their intellectual property to outside folks. People check the news, sports scores, or recipes at work all the time. I’ve never had my web sites brought up by my manager, nor have I ever heard that to be a case.

But now that I have unlimited data on my personal cell phone, I now exclusively use my phone for all my personal business.

Show up sober. Do your job and don't use company property for personal reasons. Rules to live by.

The people who run this place these days couldn't organize a three-car funeral. The odds that they'll be monitoring daily e-mail or other internet stuff are slim to none. They're too busy with Project 248 and other hopeless ventures.

The technology is out there. The original post hints of spying while away from work. I don't think they care what you do outside of work but.... at wotk? yes as they should and have every right to do that. They even tell you they will do it so no surprise. Get back to work!

BTW I went off line to sites for years, nothing said.

Returned computers are sent to a special legal department that dumps all the “spy” logs to their servers in case there is ever any litigation in the future

-iml's post pretty much explains that you have zero expectation of privacy when using company equipment.

The short answer is YES they can see everything you do on your company computer. This includes every website you visit. I'm personally aware of two employees that were terminated for "excess use" of their company computer for non business related purposes.

Does it matter? you signed documents (and reaffirmed that agreement at you computer at every login) that when at work using Honeywell equipment, you are doing so explicitly for Honeywell work product, and that their is no implied privacy from company monitoring. If you bothered to read any of the documents you sign you would see that you agree to be monitored. Really, what a stupid question do they spy on employees, of course they do.

best advice find a new Job and surf for p--n on you OWN time and computer.
