I agree. Layoffs really don't matter right now because the end is near regardless.

At this point in time, it's not even worth worrying about layoffs. If you are still working at Sears, I suggest you look for another position immediately. When a company is not doing well, it's just a matter of time before the boom is lowered. Continuing to work at Sears is gambling with your career. The job market is decent... so now is the time to get out before it all collapses. I am not saying this to criticize Sears, it's just a fact. When I worked there we were told after every layoff "that will be it, we are running with a skeleton staff as it is"... and then 3 or 4 months later there was another layoff. ... and another.... and another.....Rinse and repeat. After you survive a layoff you get a false sense of security... the reality is there is none.
Can you provide a link to the WARN site that lists this information?
Ya cut all and close them all sears and k mart!!!!!
200 in HOFFMAN , 30 MORE K-Marts to close and undetermined amount on 08/23/2018
Another question is this just on the corporate side, retail side or both?
That WARN notice applies to the people laid off 6/26. End of August is the official end of their 2 month WARN period. SHC now gives employees and the state notice at the same time. Employees are on a leave of absence until their WARN period ends to avoid having people around for 60 days notice while not really working.
As per the WARN site it says 150 around August end.
Can you elaborate about this? Last month no cuts happened (I remember last year when they cut some positions) did they change it to July? Any intel about this?
