Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Can anyone confirm

Can anyone confirm that they are making one manager run 2 stores? I’ve heard they are trying this in select districts.

I was part of the test program in the Nashville market and it was a huge flop. Gets tough during seasonal transitions, inventory and when it comes to accountability with employees.

This was a pilot in northern market, along with the co manager position. If there were 2 stores with $20k or less a week, 1 manager would run both. It hasn't caught one, and like others who have posted. It likely didn't go well.

How many managers can even run one store well? Increasing store count on the way for the DL. Back to 20 or so and will own FS and RX. CVS is a miserable company to work for. The corp take is that you are lucky to have jobs. Now that people are leaving, they have shifted to engagement mode. Don't drink the LarryAid. Things are about get worse.

Just like the Austin Powers character created by Dr. Evil - Mini-Me.

My DL told me yes they did try this out but it failed miserably. Not going to happen because it was such a disaster.

I’ve heard that the test markets have pretty much been a failure

No confirmation. Just rumors. It would make sense for some of these stores that do the amount of sales in a week that some do in a day. It sounds harsh, but 30k a week store does not need a 45 hr manager. It could run on store ops supervisors proving they want to do more with the company with a store manager who oversees a few stores. Kind of like a mini DL.
