Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Can't have faith or respect in any leader after such a show boating arrogant display

"Business as usual"..."Delight the customer"...and all the false promises for those that remained of a future full of hope and opportunity to actually get to implement the many hours spent completing training modules in "The University" training, working your arse off...and then to hear that the poor US team actually met the measurement to qualify for bonus only to have the goal post moved to ensure opportunity for a failure to meet. What a crock of "little-fat-man complex". Then to be chastised and ridiculed because you dare mention salary increases? OMG~ they are going to vote on my compensation package next week! Salary is not even a thing! And by the way..as all you worthless pisses are plugging away keeping that contract funding coming in...we are gonna take college interns and afford them the best opportunities to hands on training along side the experts...i.e. all those companies that are kicking our arse in the cloud sector (yeah...now partners), so we can boot you out the door and they can take your place...and...just to make it look like we made an effort to train you old-timers...here is an e-book and some cheesy videos that you can use to upskill with while working 50+ hours to meet your SLA's. What a flipping concept! You wanna ride the coattails of the leaders in the cloud industry cashing in on their name notoriety alone, knowing full well that they will move mountains to protect the honor of their company names and will make sure you do not fail as to not be d--g down into the parasitic sewer were your pure intentions dwell. I, myself, feel conned and cheated into believing that there was a reason to be optimistic. But after the way those that actually keep that cash coming in were referred to as being too stupid to deserve compensation increases? I pray that your compensation package gets voted down, as you are the most non-innovative thinker that I have ever laid eyes upon. It would serve ya right if all 130K people just walked out and left you high and dry since all the precious interns are now back in class.

What a c-apy place to work, 99% of managers, do not have a clue on what is going on with the company or what its employees do - hence appraisal and performance time one has to fill a sheet to tell the manager all the work one has done in he last year.

Show me the $$ and I am gone !!!

mo--ns want an increase, but do not want to pay the staff....Karma is cruel and they will pay sooner than later...

An excellent offer of employment from DXC just shows that they are desperate to fill a vacancy ASAP, but the reality is that the post HPE and CSC merger has created a misaligned corporate culture that is worse than ever before. A question to ask HR is then how many enterprise agreements exist and why haven't they all been rolled into a single company-wide agreement? The simple answer is that HR is incapable of renegotiating a cheaper outcome that provides equal benefits for all employees (Compaq, EDS, HP, HPE, CSC and DXC).

Another question for HR: why is the oncall rate for an employee on a HPE agreement worse off than a HP Inc employee who receives a slightly lower oncall rate but hourly callout fees? The simple answer is to WFR older workers that are on the Compaq, EDS, HP Inc and HP agreements rather than renegotiating the lot. In other words drain the swamp of the experienced and more expensive personnel thus leaving all the clueless and cheap graduates to bring in the bacon for Mikey.

@UAONEwn-prv: I hope that you declined the offer of employment, otherwise you will regret accepting the offer. Oh, by the way don't expect a pay rise ever either as DXC's employee performance rating system is flawed.

@-prv. My immediate response would be to steer clear, at least until after 2020 when the CEO has gone and they get fresh blood in and have finished reducing the company to half its size. By that time, its either gone or have been bought.

DXC is not the place for a career. The top management have been quite open about how they view the labour in their own company and upset everyone in the process. So bear in mind that you will have to tolerate working in a low-morale atmosphere and whilst you might shrug and accept you can ignore it, it can have quite a demoralising effect at times.

If you are young and have been made an 'excellent' offer, then why not? You can always leave after 6 months if you don't like it. It will be very unlikely they will offer training that could otherwise tie-you in. But you will receive valuable experience, espectially if you get to deal with clients direct.

You probably already know that pay-rises and bonuses don't exist in DXC. But you may not realise that promotions are also devoid of increase - if that's what you are hoping for - but, don't worry, promotions are notoriously slow in DXC that it is a mute point anyway. There are few rewards either and few Managers will say thank you. Man-management skills are in short supply in DXC.

My advice is not to get locked in on any contract deals where you have to give more than 4 weeks notice; ensure the contract gives you the vacation and flex you expect. take the experience and then after 6 months review your situation; flag yourself as open on Linked-in and move to another company. You don't owe them anything. Take what you can.

I still think it is the wrong company to join at the moment as it lacks any real heart, inspiration, innovation and creativity. So go in with your eyes open and be prepared to jump; that means avoid taking out car or bank loans or buying a house when employed with them :-)

Tom the author of this post, RIGHT on . How dare the a$$-hole in chief ML talk about his salary increase and bonus and deny us anything F--- him!

I'll get my pay check and do the bare minimum to keep getting paid, but won't bust my a-- for this sh--hole company any longer. Been in the business for 30+ years and always prided myself that I did above and be-on and was (is) a very good technical person, a go to guy. BUT NO MORE

Got offered a job at DXC as a Cloud Engineer, its an excellent offer.

Wondering whether its a good idea to accept it, considering all of what is going on?

I can't believe you ever felt optimistic? How was that even possible? Are you from ES?

Anyway, what does this mean:

"the poor US team actually met the measurement to qualify for bonus only to have the goal post moved to ensure opportunity for a failure to meet"???

I assume you mean the SSP bonus?
