Thread regarding IBM layoffs

IBM has been fighting a former salesman in court. The case won’t go to trial.

“Most people who work at IBM on a daily basis say IBM is a law firm that happens to own an IT company,”

Groetzinger said in an interview with The News & Observer earlier this year. “They’ve got lawyers

everywhere. Trying to sue them on an [equal-employment opportunity] complaint or sue them for back

commission in my opinion is not worth the trouble. Maybe somebody can win this, but they’re going to

make it expensive, they’re going to make it difficult.”

IBM is a law firm that happens to own an IT company! Best quote I've heard in quite awhile. Just perfect!

I also have 30+ years and I have to agree. IBM used to dominate the industry with our hard-earned reputation and the Basic Beliefs. Current management has thrown all that away. Now IBM is an irrelevant has-been trying to survive in a world dominated by others. People ask if IBM can survive. I say this company might eventually find a toehold, but IBM died years ago.

IBM promises one thing and does another with both employees and clients. They are just down right dishonest. This from a 34 year employee who has watched the culture change to the detriment.
