We spread out layoffs, to hide their numbers, keep wall street in the dark and attempt to keep morale up. Only problem is when you have been doing it for ten years you end up in a constant state of layoffs and everyone who works here not giving a damn because tomorrow might be the your day.
I got pink slipped the first Monday of pay period, 01/23/2017
Not sure why you'd think its only 1 day per month when we've had multiple layoffs in 1 month recently. There is no 'its on this day and this day only'. What we have seen in our office is layoffs at the end of pay periods. Some were walked out that day - others were told their last days.. which coincided with a payperiod ending. The most truthful statement has been that the largest cuts have come just before the earnings call after the EOQ
never the thursday before a payday. its the last thursday of the month that doesnt fall on a pay week.
Nothing happening in Rochester so far. Perhaps it’s two weeks from now. Something is definitely coming down the pipes soon.
