Thanks, -qyj! You hit the nail on the head when you stated that Intel "weaponized" the Focal reviews under BK's sad reign. Total shame what this company has become and how it treats it's employees.

: @U6wfGGX-nze The offer was at the time Intel and more than generation lead in process technology and combined with Apple designed Aps processor would have been the most superior chip. Look what Apple has done at TSMC and this year their cores will wipe Intel in PPAC

Of course Apple the demanding customer they were would have forced PTD to change a few things. The same barriers that made them a failure in foundry.

Look at it another way if PSO has allowed Apple in, Intel would have world class foundry and TSMC would be half the size it is now and intel would have three more fabs the size of D1x making iPhones.

I just like the lucky x86 from IBM the Apple A* that wasn’t

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

And again that urban legend about Apple offering Intel to build the processor for the first iPhone.

It‘s something that never happened, because Intel would have been unable to create such a power efficient chip out of thin air. Otellini was full of sh-- when he made up that story. Intel didn‘t pass up anything. Intel simply wasn‘t capable of providing a product to Apple.

I would urge everyone to not only read the article, but also the two links that JLG references. All are stunningly written and very accurate reads on historic Intel. They are less about culture than business decisions.

Enjoy.

Recipe for catastrophic culture fail:

1) treat people as commodities

2) destroy meritocracy

3) weaponize/randomize the yearly evaluation process

4) focus relentlessly on ‘cost’ at the expense of every other metric

5) ...

Just wow. Excellent article, although he didn't go into detail how 5 years of the buffoon's regime have made Intel culture much, much worse than it ever was under PSO. Intel is DEKCUF.
