Stock advising firm The Motley Fool offers a dark forecast for Sears Holdings and Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, both of which are facing "apocalyptic" scenarios. Sears Holdings "lost over 95% of its market value over the past decade as mall traffic dried up and it lost customers to e-tailers and superstores." Even after some drastic maneuvers by CEO Eddie Lampert, analysts expect its revenue "to tumble 26% to $12.4 billion this year, and for its earnings to remain deep in the red." Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores plans to close up to 100 of its stores over the next few months.

Oh wait, the Craftsman brand already was (EL)! My bad.

So now the Craftsman brand is relegated to being a symbol on the office wall of some jerk beancounter CEO of a tool conglomerate that doesn't know anything about using tools.

Stanley, Black & Decker bought Craftsman from SEARS..... not Lowe's.

hope they get things right with their maker--I ordered a deck for my push mower--was sent the wrong item--I received a self-propelled deck--not a push--went online--followed the directions--was issued a return UPS label--pasted the label on the box--added some extra sealing tape and sent it back--5 days later was sent an e-mail stating that due to damage I would NOT be getting my 96 dollars credited back to my account--I phoned them and stated--WTF? You should file a claim with UPS for damages--I sent it back in the original box--it's their fault not mine--the only communication I got in return was an e-mail stating --"we have reviewed your case and found the fault to be your on ordering the wrong part" --really? I even have proof I ordered correct part--I printed it off after I paid for it. --I do not have any intentions on ever doing business with them again..NOW I hear Lowes has bought out the craftsman tools divison from sears---maybe Lowes can get them back on track--God only knows--the pricks!
