Close to ten established engineers left from this small facility. Now they started hiring newbies to fill in the blank. This cycle will keep on continuing.

My husband was layed off from SLB in Sugar Land 6/26/18. He was a tool designer! He was with SLB for, are you ready for this...............43 YEARS......!!!! Yes, you read that right! 43 years! He devoted his entire life to Schlumberger! He knows more about machining, tooling, problem solving knowledge than anyone in that entire complex! He was cheated out of his retirement, no party, no, "Congrats on your retirement, you deserve it"! Instead he was told, "So sorry you got layed off"...I can't believe they did this to you"! People were in shock, he was in shock! Dedicated, responsible, efficient....none of those qualities meant anything to upper management! SLB has truly destroyed one of it's most loyal employees in North America. Shame on you, SLB, shame on you! ☹
Schlumberger has lost a few people as in workers and engineers. It just gets worse from here! They have lost several jobs that they had due to economic issues as well as gas and oil going down hill. If you have a chance get out of the oil industry.
Very similar to SHTC Stonehouse, top heavy on managers who have no positive input or real job to do.
Just waiting for the next upward promotional move regardless of effort or achievement, longstanding hardworking staff are totally fed up and see no reward or recognition for their genuine effort and pride in doing a good days work.
This negative culture has been here for many years now and cannot be a good model long term for Schlumberger to regain it's previous market share.
Unless there is a change in management culture within company as a whole the decline will continue and perhaps as the share value continues to fall it may find itself the subject of a take over by a more forward thinking company and then some real reverse engineering will take place.
Its also failure of the system when those moron “managers” moved up every year without any accomplishments, and majority of the average Joe have no promising career path, of course people will lose faith and leave!!
Having some of those managers around who only played by favoritism is possibly the greatest insult to the Schlumberger legacy and some hardworking and genuine people there.
Not to mention those useless posters. Yeah let's make more posters so that the so called accountable person understand what he/she is accountable for!
Happiness is in the doing success follows. Perception can only get you so far, except if you can change jobs in less than 2 years wink wink !!!
I wont surprise if more people start leaving.
Management only cares about making up number to look good in their bosses and those superficial teambuilding that does not solve the key issues there.
