Thread regarding Sears layoffs

How’s your tool reset going?

Ours is not progressing quickly at all!

Is there a date set when this is to be completed?

S---s too that the printer batteries are dead so how are you to print bin labels?

@TyVau3O-2okv Its also happening in my store no one really quit after the change, but little by little one is already in the thoughts of quiting another one apparently got another job (restricted his availability to one day). We also have a full time lead position and one person in the inside applied and was going to negotiate pay I told him good luck with that... As you said one damn dollar with so many responsibilities he threw the offer out the door.

Why would anyone in their insane mind apply for such torture (unless you need the money so bad)? I mean all the responsibilities for one damn dollar. Here is the kicker (thats if Sears is still alive by a little longer) minimum wage will catch up to the pay of that position lol. No way in hell its worth it.

The reset isn't happening at all at my store. How could it with just two store support workers? We used to have six or seven, but they all gradually left ever since backroom started having to do shoes and tools adsets and planograms on top of everything else they had to do already, all with no pay raise and poor training. And with two part-time employees, they don't cover anywhere near the hours that are required for backroom/store support, so they get less than 30 hours.

Our store support lead position has been vacant ever since the announcement was made in February. He left as soon as the backroom converted to store support. It's almost impossible to fill a supervisor position and keep it filled when it offers barely $1 more in pay over the minimum wage. The rest of the store support team followed him out the door except the remaining two, and I don't know how much longer those two will stay. The SGM is begging everyone in the store to apply for these positions since he cannot find anyone outside of Sears that is willing to work and fulfill all of those responsibilities for minimum wage. Nobody has bitten.

As you might have guessed, almost all of their time is being eaten up by running back to MPU and dealing with the trucks and packing web orders. They are always a week behind in processing the truck. It's hard to have one person do a reset plus all of the tasks in MPU. And because there are two people and both are part time, the zone supervisors have to run MPU. The softlines zone supervisor, who has severe back issues, made it clear to the SGM that she will quit if she has to continue running MPU.

Ours is so behind. We got hours well I only got hours. I checked my schedule to see some nice changes in hours however I kind of felt bad because others didn't get the same hours. It was just me (only reason I found out is because co worker said he only saw the boast on hours for me) I kind of felt bad its just horrible how they don't give enough hours and they expect me to do this all on my own. What is more sad is how scared my SM is that he had to lie that our reset was going fantastic and that we were 65 percent bunch of BS if anything we are probably 30 percent their (counting today) and I do see it getting 65 even 70 by the end of next week.

@1qci prone to failure is so true!

Wonder what the DMs are thinking about this since they seem to enjoy micro managing and that is even failing!!! You would think they would be visiting their stores to see how the failed tool reset is going because it sure doesn’t present well with the customers that do come in!

Such a waste of resources doing this reset so late in the year and not having it done before Fathers Day

Such a tedious task, especially the warranty center with all those sockets ugh

Then by moving fixtures the floors are a complete mess too

Was nothing wrong with the tool department the way it was

Poster 1qci here - The site dropped every other sentence out of my post; hence gibberish.

@1gei - "Whose idea was it to do a complete reset of the tool department anyway?" Probably the same person who dreamed up the Clean before they did a 180 and disempowered us. Sears has never lacked a full stable of visionaries prone to failure!

Went to Lowe’s online to search craftsman and they have it all and I heard their layout of craftsman tools and stuff in the stores makes Sears look like real joke.. especially with this crazy tool reset taking place in the tool department!!

Guess the reset fiasco will justify shuttering more stores due too sinking sales

Whose idea was it to do a complete reset of the tool department anyway?

We don't need no stinking tools! Tell the customers that Ace and Lowes have a far better assortment of Craftsman. So much WINNING!!!!

Our tool department was a mess for Memorial Day weekend and looks as though it won’t be put back together for Fatvers Day 6/17 either!!

No organization at all!!

At least you have hours to do it. Our store has had it's hours cut back so deeply that the one person trying to work on the reset is also the only person scheduled in MPU at the same time. The reset is secondary to MPU.
