Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

I Think HP Employees are Safe

You all are safe. The layoffs are over. There is now exactly the right number of people to keep the lights on.

I just found out that they are outsourcing their entire Recruiting Team to Korn Ferry mid next year. All of recruiting I believe, globally. We have a meeting with Alan May, CPOm tomorrow.

HP employees are about as safe as a perforated condom.

Way before HPE existed, Lew Platt split off Agilent, Agilent split off Avago. Agilent recently split off Keysight. Can't blame Carly for those.

HPE doesn't know how to run a services only company. I saw on another thread where someone blamed the autonomy and EDS aquisitions for HPE's failures. Not true like almost everything they have aquired the board and executives think they can buy the success of other companies but in the end what has happened is they get rid of redundancies in the newly purchased companies which means they get rid of the people who know how to run it and place people over the business that have never worked in the field of expertise they purchased with the company and eventually it fails. Autonomy was a different animal. They used to get Price Waterhouse as the auditor to ensure everything was on the up and up before the purchase. With Autonomy they agreed to go with someone autonomy agreed with which happened to be someone who was twice put on trial over fraudulent activities during the dot.com bust in the 90's. Carly Fiorina started the demise of the company exercising her free will after Bill Hewlett died. Mark Hurd continued it while getting what was essentially a raise thanks to his bonuses even in the year we all took pay cuts. Wouldn't surprise me if Leo Apetheker who followed Hurd, who is married into the Rothchilds family and had primarily worked in Europe didn't get a kickback on the Autonomy deal. Which brings us to Meg, couldn't fix the damage that was done so like all the rest she finished the job. The company likely still doesn't know how to do services. Its only a matter of time before it goes belly up.

Yeah. I'm the OP. I was only with you guys from 2015 to 2017. You could tell projects were drying up. And seeing people laid off every other Monday. HPE used to build stuff (I'll admit, decades ago). And sell stuff. Now it was just servers. And this "NEXT" into being strictly a service software company. HPE divested Keysight, Avago-spun from Agilent-spun from HP (which Hock Tan used to buy Broadcom). In the words of Miss Puff; "Why Sponge Bob? WHYYYYY?"

Being the very first year for the new CEO, I think they will avoid doing anything bad. But the rot can be held back only for so long. In 2019 the rot will start rearing its ugly head again
