For most Intel employees they can ignore this. As they couldn't get a job at Apple to save their lives.

Look at majority of intel bosses today versus the old days during Groove’s time. Back then senior managers knows their stuff. Nowadays almost all senior management go up due to buddies with VPs, drinking and partying with VPs during overseas trips, many even bring VPs to nite clubs in the orient with beautiful Asean girls accompany the drinks. It’s an open secret at intel, just no one wants to acknowledge it.

@djs Intel does not value true team player. The one been awarded as team player does not do actual work, just do lip work which appears as team player. Most of they don't have the right skill to do the actual work for Intel's bottom line.

@pqp The difference between Intel amd Apple is: Intel wants employees to be highly competitive. At Apple, they actually are. Sure, also at Intel you have people who milk the so-called meritocracy at the expense of others, but the vast majority are team players. You won‘t find that at Apple.

I actually have friends among my Intel colleagues. I invite them over for barbecue. I also invite my friend who works for Apple, and there is no way in heck that he could have a barbecue with Apple colleagues. They‘d think he poisoned the burgers.

Not sure why salaries should go up. For every technical person contributing to the bottom line there are ten other people whining about their paygrade.

@hie- as if at Intel one gets rewarded at focal for being a team player. Intel talks a good game on teamwork but at the end of the day, those who kiss the right a$$ or get their nose dirty, are the ones who are rewarded.

If you work at Apple, you better be a top performer, or else you‘ll get both a work culture that is so stressful that it will literally cut years off your lifespan and a fairly low salary. As a top performer, at least you get a great salary.

Personally, I am more of a teamworker, so Apple is pretty much the opposite of where I would like to work. If you actually love competing against your co-workers, then Apple is the right place for you.
