Thread regarding ADP layoffs

This week's layoffs notices

A handful of people in the learning organization were given notice yesterday that they're let go as of 6/29. No word of ending home-shore arrangements from leaders. I know they're moving away from home-shoring (no new hires are home-shored), and I'm sure home-shored folks have been affected by RIF. It's only here that the rumor of laying off all home-shored employees abounds.

Bumped from @TalmXBd-gdjk for info.

It's all about lack of trust. When employees are working from home, management can't be sure that every hour they are supposed to be working, that they really are. Perhaps they are watching tv, raiding the refrigerator too much, or even taking a nap. Pulling employees back into the office eliminates that concern. Creating an open office makes everything employees do there be out in the spotlight where everyone can see what everyone is doing all the time. With no personal offices and no cubicles it makes it even more difficult to hide activities. Its all about lack of trust. As for reduced productivity, who cares? ADP showed that it doesn't concern itself with reduced productivity when it started to throw out its experienced personnel.

I don't see where people are more productive in open offices - too distracting so people wear noise cancelling headphones so they aren't collaborating. My friends office is a free for all, no set spaces so you have to find somewhere to work each day. Even managers, no offices so not sure how you conduct private convos.

actually, this isn't just ADP it's the whole tech industry is moving away from homeshored employees because it's been proven that employees are less productive and too far removed from corporate culture.

I find moving away from homeshore odd since many of their own studies and reports support working from home and employees being happier and more productive. Now they act like it is 1990!
