6/1/18 Layoffs

Yes, that's right, there will be more notifications tomorrow. I will be saying goodbye to many loyal long term company veterans in favor of corporate greed.

Don't fault the new folks now managing the business, fault the old management that managed poorly and set you folks up for this unfortunate circumstance. For too long old ctl let expenses build and directed money to poor returning business. Now you folks are unfortunately paying the price of that pent up capital/expense inefficiency. Glad May came and went.

Every Friday is a day employees love or fear. This company will axe your bonus before Christmas and axe your job before the weekend. Sad way to live, just go contract for them seems more secure and than being on payroll. C'mon Centurylink at least be humane about the way you are doing it. Jobs get cut, we get it. But just be honest and civil about. These are good employees no need to treat as scum when u are scared of network sabatoge. Good employees who don't do that and not all are bad...

I was a national field ops tech and when Level3 took over before the laid me off our Director told us the goal is to combine all jobs into one , If you are working in a large metro area this can be a real challenge , fiber locates, equipment installs ( relay racks, bays, power, cable , sewing, fiber jumpers ) test turn up, commision , customer premise , construction , route maint. building maint. Generator maint. restroom cleaning, yard maint. And they want it done yesterday !

BMO techs on east coast told today, no more BMO techs. New job title National Field Operations Tech, which is apparently some kind of level 3 job. No more working in a designated area. New job responsibilities taking care of all the L3 network stuff. Can't keep up now, ought to be interesting.

yes send them off to the old telecom employee home we are going to Automate DSL installs and everything else . We have the power. "The combination of two large companies also creates redundant positions that must be addressed to remain competitive. In addition, as part of our ongoing efforts to deliver high levels of customer service, we are implementing best practices and increasing automation,” said a statement from Mark Molzen, a company spokesman. You see all the redundant positions ? Level3 has a local Network with their own DSL techs.

They are Auotmatons waiting in the secret warehouse in Broomfield to take over the world !

Jeffery Story, Richard Batelaan, Fred Lawler say , We are chasing short-term gains in order to boost stock prices and put more money in the pockets of their large shareholders and top executives," err...ourselves.
