Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

A more (semi)accurate 10nm diss

Charlie D is on a roll. He's been awfully right for the last three years, so no reason to think this is any different - https://semiaccurate.com/2018/05/29/is-intels-upcoming-10nm-launch-real-or-a-pr-stunt/

It's also hilarious that Intel keeps preaching it's adherence to Moore's Law. What a joke! Intel actually blew Moore's Law out of the water during the 22nm program, but they kept resetting parameters to make everyone think they were still on this technological curve to market. It was worse for 14nm although a lot of cover endured. Forget 10 nm. Moore's Law blown a long time ago. I'm surprised people still talk about it, trying to resurrect it. Must be a good thing to lie about on Focal reports.

Have faith my children as I have posted the sinking is all but assured. With the BK idiot bringing in huge ego external people to try and will a change in cultural is a friggen disaster.

Then you got TMG run by a micromanager who has no technology clue and has allowed 14, 10 and 7nm be defined in ways to insure absolute failure.

How are 14nm yields, anywhere TMG promised?

Where is 10nm yields, anywhere TMG promised?

How is progress on those going, better?

What is intel going to sell in 2020, 14++++ and continued fused 10nm with no GPUs? But the density of 10nm is simply world class 🤣

How did the people responsible continue to get promoted and those with any clue moved aside ?

😊 yes. No clue why such vp promotions are done. This one was so stupid. No one follows what they create.

Intel has no DNA to enter and win in highly competitive markets.

Their history is littered with failure and retreat.

Name one highly competive market they entered and won?

BTW the only reason Intel won the server and x86 was process cadence and leadership and we all know the state of 10nm and leadership these days

Spot on report!! The bigger question, though, is what do the consumers want ? They want a new PC/laptop when the old one breaks, about every 4 to 6 years. Meanwhile they want a new $600 phone every 18 to 24 months. No one is going to enter the PC market anymore. Intel just needs to hold on to the server market long enough to make the new businesses profitable. Well, we know how that’s fared!!

If OP were actually an Intel employee, he‘d know why Intel doesn‘t (have to) give a damn about 10nm anymore.

What impossible, Intel has a three year lead and best density power and area!

That is what LTD fellows and VPs say!
