Is anyone else noticing a lot of people,especially merchants, getting let go on ethics violations?
It makes me wonder if your pay gets too high, do they go digging for stuff to get rid of you? I don’t know this to be true, but there are a lot of long time merchants (presumably with good pay) that are dropping like flies.
This makes me wonder. I have a dear friend who is a long time buyer. If they top out their pay band, will the company go digging for technicalities?
I could see them doing this to avoid paying severance.
I've seen small supplier companies eager to have someone on the ground in Bentonville try to poach away Walmart people in very unethical ways, with suggestions that would never fly. When you're approached by one you'll laugh because they are so FOS. Signing on with Walmart is the biggest thing to happen, and they let their excitement cloud their judgement (dollar signs are ringing in their head). Typically, it's not long after they've signed on to be a Walmart supplier. It's pretty clear they do not understand how Walmart operates, or appreciate the legal and ethical boundaries Walmart has for the supplier/merchant relationship.
Be careful what you post on social media too. They have people watching.

I was with the company for thirty years and I will tell you it’s true. I’ve seen so many people fired on trumped up charges it’s ridiculous.
Oh, without a doubt. I was there for many years, ran afoul with a creepy manager, had my life there become a raging sea....and brutally suffered my last four months futiley fighting off a case of s-xual harrassment----an ethics violation.
A word about that. As a man, s-xual harrassment is basically a nuclear bomb: you don't survive the hit. It is the one accusation that needs no proof, you have nothing to save you, and you are absolutely guilty until NEVER proven innocent.
So yeah, I have no trouble believing your story, having experienced it first hand.
