Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Next round of layoff

Aug-Sept 2018 will see another round of layoff. The data collection exercise to identify the people has already been started similar to how it was done last time where 100s of people were fired. This will happen at all locations where hiring is going on presently. It is not to fill vacant position but to replace the new list which is being prepared. You will interview and select the candidate and after two months the same candidate will replace you. They have also prepared the list of people who has dependencies and managers are tasked to identify and train new people for removing dependencies.

Any layoffs will happen most likely October/November to be off payroll by the end of 2018. If not, look for March 2019. After that, Avaya will only need to hold out until September and the expiration of the extension. Then, who ever is left can be let go without any severance. Hooray....

Train your yourself to be clever and spontaneous. These are your weapons. Employees have an important month upcoming to put their best foot forward and prove their worth. You may need to brush up your skills and gather all your experience to handle the same successfully.

I know one area they can't lay off in. Gca 105 in new York. Nassau and Suffolk county. Want to know why? Because there are zero technicians in that region. And still nobody does anything about this.

This might be true for Pune. But Avaya have 5 R&D (Germany, UK, Itlay, Ireland, etc) centers in EU. No chance of cuts as so many people leaving thrmselves. There was an exercise to fill an online form about the skills you have, so you think this can be used to assess who be fired?

This is expected in US as well. Services in Coppell and HR again got hit few weeks before and next it would be R&D Thornton. Keep counting 😙

Be ready to get a nice slap on the face by the leadership after new employees are onboarded. Who ever has started this thread I completely agree with you. Not sure if you're from Pune but I can see this trend happening in Pune.

Lot of work is currently being outsourced to GS Labs in Pune. Lot of Avaya guys are asked to do hand holding with GSLabs. By September it is for sure lot of us will be asked to leave.

Schedule is very tight, it will be GA for most of the products in a month or so, which mean product planning is already underway for the next release levels. I might be wrong, but Aug/Sept doesn't seems a practicle time frame.
