Thread regarding IBM layoffs

This is not the IBM of old

I spent over 20 years at IBM and left last year for a new opportunity, I wish I left years earlier. I arrived when Lou Gerstner took over and even though there were many layoffs back then, most people volunteered for lucrative packages and had retirement plans. Lou did what needed to be done to right the ship. Now, there is so much animosity, poor morale, no investment and lack of direction. There are minimal raises or promotions. If it were me, I would move look into the new opportunity. Wish you luck!

Very true comment by @TiDAFJb-ppt. It's sad to realize where we used to be and where we are now.

I'm a reporter working on a story about these layoffs and would like to clarify if you are a retiree from IBM or simply a former employee? I do not need your name for the story, I just want to make sure I attribute the comment correctly as I plan to use it in my story. Also, if you or any other current/former IBM employees would like to contact me you may do so at amanda.pedersen@ubm.com.
