Thread regarding Riverbed Technology Inc. layoffs

You get a holiday.. you get a holiday.. we all get a holiday!

So, enforced leave for us US staff members for July 2-6 (Independence Day) and November 19-23 (Thanksgiving).. to save millions and make EBITDA look better.

Yay!

You are not accounting for people who will take some of it unpaid - decreasing spending

What a fantastic hr lead we have who openly says, 'we are forcing you to take holidays cause we want our numbers to look better than it is for our investors'

Shameful. How do these people even get their jobs! Yes,we know how this would help the companys numbers and that other companies do this all the time in the Bay Area, but telling it outright is sheer incompetence. Ffs.

maybe this is not about EBITDA. maybe tb is considering new round of layoff. less accured vacation means company can pay less to let you go.

You don’t increase EBIDTA, by forcing employees to take accrued vaction. You decrease liabilities part on the balance sheet. The accrued vacation is expensed every quarter, so it already accounted for in EBIDTA.
