IT HUB STRATEGY

What locations will be listed as IT HUBS globally?

How much time will people be given to relocate?

By when does this strategy need to be complete?

SLP won't be an IT hub in Future but no clarity on when the future is

Also he didn't say when different Towers would be forced to move. Sentience was first and their deadline was end of a June to move to Atlanta. Some of the team exited already

They want to bury RIF cost with spinoff so likely all teams by end of this year or at latest end of 2019

Pretty lousy town hall and once again no clarifications... waste of time

Interestingly enough, in today’s townhall KM did NOT mention SLP within the declared IT Hubs

It probably won't be announced until after the spinoffs so October 1 or later

But the HPD reminder to managers has links to doing mid year reviews and the PDF has a whole paragraph on asking people about moving and instructing people to update their willingness to relocate in HR Direct profiles for new jobs. Hubs are coming it's just a matter of when

SLP is San Luis Potosce(sp?) a site in Mexico

I haven't heard of all IT being pulled from SLP but our IT leaders are being very vague. Hopefully someone who is quitting or retiring will ask about Hub Strategy in IT town hall this month on June 26th

My understanding is based on the team or technology you work with will dictate the "allowed hubs" you can work at. If you are not at one of those hubs either find a new job in Honeywell or relocate on your own time and money. Some teams will start soon, others may not implement the strategy until early 2019, but all areas of IT will be impacted. Your only hope is Dairyass fires KM before your area goes into effect. I did hear something similar to a previous post that some would be offered move packages but only for the very top performers. Most will not get move packages but instead will be RIFd with severance by X date

6joz- capgemini has picked up more SAP work. Many of the laid off SAP team that were let go this spring were replaced with Capgemini people. For deployments for HBT Andy SPS

Capgemini also took over Database support. They are in transition on that and fully take over either June 1 or June 30- I just don't recall exact date

And I bet they will be taking over more of IT before end of the year (before 401k match deadlines )

To 4irq

My understanding is the US it’s Morris Plains, Atlanta, and Tempe. But agree with what was posted it depends on the technology area. Cloud and Sentience will be Atlanta only. SAP may only be Morris Plains with some at Tempe, but a lot will become Capgemini.

Brno Czech Rep., Bangalore Ind., will be IT hubs.

They may only have customer service, accounting, finance, accounts payable/receivable inSLP Mex. they are considering exiting SLP for IT.

So sounds like for the US it’s Morris Plains, Atlanta, and Tempe. What about the regions, what sites are being considered? I guess Brno Czech Rep., Bangalore Ind., SLP Mex. Is anyone here able to provide more insight?

Non-USA countries will be impacted but they have laws protecting them so probably would impact EMEA and India after USA is done

The working from home policy is a joke. There are so many exceptions , nobody knows who is in the office anymore. Some people just log on for an hour in the office and then work from home for the rest of the day. Others don’t care and just work from home all day . More people work from home now before the stupid rule was introduced

Will this impact the regions? There is an it director in Switzerland by herself (probably working from home)

In the USA hubs will be Morris Plains, Atlanta and Phoenix Tempe. If you are not there plan on moving. Each team will get a few Honeywell paid for move packages. If you are told to move on your own money they don't really want you and you are likely to be next on the 2019 RIF list once you relocate.

I am hearing inconsistent timing and how deep down into the organization. Most say their leadership is implying completion by December this year. A few others say no later than March of next year to avoid paying MIP. Some are being told entire team all the way to individual contributors.... others only down to manager level, and individuals can remain at non core sites

Someone will have to ask in IT Townhall in June. KM will probably be fired by year end since SBG presidents are now actively complaining about KM.

1aax - you just described EIT for years and years. HIGHLY incompetent at the top, zero delivery and just dont care. talk to them and they are the greatest thing ever.....in reality look and theres nothing there.

The whole Honeywell IT org lacks direction. All they do it RIFs throughout. TG small has a poor leadership structure . they are all talk but no action. They never reply to emails. You are forever chasing them up. Such a waste of time . His leadership are good at producing fake numbers and facts to keep KM happy . All his direct reports are his pals and have a regular jolly on expenses .

Someone has to look at his senior reports and change the structure . Most of them work from home. Nothing ever gets done at the moment apart from constantly moving jobs from the US to offshore.

And self funded moves are not tax deductible anymore.

From what I have been told depends on what area of IT you work in. Sentience people told to move to Atlanta or RIF'd in 60 days. Even though they are in Morris Plains which was an IT hub in general but no longer for them. For my role I was told move to Morris Plains or Tempe but I wasn't given a deadline or told I would be RIFd. However my boss said there could be negative consequences in the future. When I asked if I had until December the bosses answer was...... it's still a bit vague at this time

So I don't know if I get demoted or RIFd if I don't move. And there is no move package, I would have to pay for move myself

Their HUB strategy is the worst corporate strategy I have seen in my entire life. They will hire every body in Romania and will ask you to relocate to Romania. But wait, here is a twist, your relocation will not at all happen, they will open IJP's in Romania and ask you to apply but will never take your interview because they want to hire Romanian citizen coz they are cheap. If you happen to appear in the interview, they will fail you. Or even if they pass you they will not give you relocation expenses. All in all, this strategy is to spoil your career in Honeywell. The theory behind all this sh-- is, some crap newly hired vp's and some sh--ty nonsense top management wants to proof that they are doing something in the organization and they will show growth org chart.
