Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Fortune 500 and CVS

Anybody else finds it shameful that CVS made it into Fortune 500 top 10 once more over the backs of its employees?

Growing revenues, growing profits, and what do we get for it? Layoffs, more work and fewer hours.

Oh, and not to forget, constant worry about more of the same.

80k is about right for California Sm’s im suprised its not more for cost of living here. Cvs has most of us here redlined for years... it doesn’t make sense the cost of living (gas, food, rent, etc) keep going up every year but wages dont. Its BS that the redline never gets increased

Frustrated and poor meet 80k and getting scared!

Frustrated and poor... you have been with this company 8 YEARS and you still think they care about any of your suggestions! You are frustrated, poor and delusional... but I bet you bust your butt everyday.

Mr. 80K you can stop getting scared and actually BE scared. Hope you squirreled some of that 80K away for a rainy day because hurricane season is coming to CVS!

I'm a sm in a slow store ( less than

20k per week 2000 scripts- down south -

I love Cvs for one reason-

They pay me almost 80k , I run this store 40 % of the day by myself 158 hours ....

And ring up couponers for detergent and paper towels...

But Im getting scared ... how much longer ... before they realize a shift could run this

I am a shift and have been with this company about 8 years.

I make the same as a cashier since the April raise went into effect. At least I did get a raise to 11.00.

I do not turn on my furnace in the winter or my AC in the summer. Being single it is almost impossible to survive. I have cut out all extras, no movies, vacations, going out to eat, cable, driving a paid off 30 year old car and down to eating 1 meal a day.

I do not feel appreciated for what I do from the company. I could slow down and do nothing like so many of the staff, but my work ethic and maybe my age will not allow me to do that.

As the previous commenter has said, the turnover is out of control. Trying to find new employees seems impossible. We run short staffed. Being located in a multi college town makes finding people that will make a career out of CVS is non existent.

Basically CVS is a paycheck for most. Stand behind a cash register and play on their phones.

It seems CVS would rather change the pharmacies into doctors and opthalmologists offices combined with an insurance company.

Loss prevention is a joke. We need better quality of cameras and more of them.

Theft is out of control. I take it personal everything I find empty boxes or bottles that were stolen.

Online shopping is closing many brick and mortar stores. CVS is one of very few stores that have a great plan of putting customers first and making them feel appreciated however the lack of employees makes it nearly impossible to greet and walk customers to products without ignoring other customers.

I believe they need to implement a "suggestion box" that experienced employees could submit ideas and other suggestions. Maybe a forum of sorts. We are the proverbial boots on the ground employees that actually could help make this company better.

I'm pretty interested to see the engagement results. I think store level will be fine but Dl and up is going to get blasted. I'm a SM and I can say that this is the first year that I will actually answer honestly not that it will matter. The conf calls made it clear that Cvs wants to be patted on the back but I'm not going to do that. Turnover would be fixed if we would get some damn breathing room with payroll. Focus is in the wrong place. I am no longer drinking the kool aid.
