Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Forcing people back to Avaya

A tech will be back soon that was laid off in December. He doesn't want to come back but is being forced to. And long island has zero techs. (At the moment) there will be one returning very soon.

I'm sorry, but can you explain how are they forcing somebody who was laid off to return? Is this even possible?

Grounds for firing? Illegal? Asking for knowledge or help is a firing offense? Your delusional. Typical response by someone who never gave a sh-- about the people he or she worked with. Enjoy retirement.

Settle down and don't get personal boys. Nobody can be forced back. Not sure what ECO is never heard of that one. If you are blessed to be alive and breathing and getting paid in any way you are blessed. A lot of sad things get said on here. Its horrible. Money isn't worth it. Be happy and live well.

Google FUD. That's all that gets posted. If any of you babies had balls when you were with the company GCA 105 would be covered and a job would be brought back. Try caring about that. And you help techs when not working for Avaya, did I get that right. That sounds illegal and grounds for a current employee to be dismissed. Thanks for the info big mouth.

Let's get the facts straight a--hole, I was laid off , you took the ECO. You weren't forced to take the ECO but wanted to still be on payroll and work off the books somewhere else, hoping to return. I could've taken the ECO also but unlike you I had the comprehension, knowledge and confidence that I would've gotten a job. Unlike yourself, Avaya wanted you to learn but you decided to be one of those SPOS and only wanted to be in the background when the REAL work was to be done. We all know who you are. You figured since you always went out on disability every summer to get a few months off and milk the company, you were hoping they would ask you back. Unfortunately 2 people are losing their jobs because work is gone to all the BP's. The people who could take the VTP want to be kicked to the curb after 30-40 years when the company implodes. As far as checking this site, I have some loyalty to my fellow techs who are still there. They still call me and I help them out when they need me. I am not a one bean Johnny like yourself and NEVER ratted on my fellow techs like you always did. Maybe you could learn something running cable......or maybe you'll pull your back out..............again. Jerkoff.

Hey Salmon or Real Fish . Here is a few things to stew on. First of all its not about you. You are gone, you are done. You can't come back. The issue is that there is one tech that took a ECO option who shall remain nameless that if he pushed at all COULD come back because he's still attached to the company till January 2019 unlike yourself who just got the boot like a loser. 2nd stop saying need, Avaya doesn't NEED any techs there is no work. This is strictly a issue of the blatant disregard of the contract in SUFFOLK COUNTY. The tech however who can actually put up a fight and get back won't because he already has a great job and was bursting at the seams to leave in the first place. You are out of this, the fact that you still check this site speaks volumes about yourself and your misery. The low man can and should be protected if the one tech that had any pull cared to come back but he won't and I don't blame him. But the issue is that there are no techs in Suffolk and we are down 3 guys when only 2 were authorized to go in December. You are done fish you are gone forever but one man still can help us but is selfish and works 50 hours a week running cable etc making bucks while collecting from Avaya still. Not right.

The tech is feeling heat from the guys to return. Not being forced literally.

So no one is being forced to do anything. Just typical union recall rights.

If the tech went out on ECO he or she can come back if a position opened up. If such laid off tech wants to pursue it. When our on ECO the laid off tech is still attached to the company and pays union dues. So in essence they still work for Avaya. They are still contributing to their 401k etc. Nobody can force anyone back but with proper nudging from piers laid off tech can be persuaded to return to help the low man out. Does this help? What region are we talking about?
