Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Still am confused about why there are so many high salary first level supervisors still here.

Why are there still so many high salary first level supervisors still here that have low number of employees reporting under them. There was some repositioning done with some of the supervisors.

I'm not sure what all is going on elsewhere, but in Florida they let go a few and plan on letting go more after they finish axing craft. There won't be many left after all is said and done.

They will let go of the lower level employees first. Next they will flatten the organization, and some of the mid levels will left go and the higher level execs will stay on board. This is the level 3 way, unfortunately the people that keep their jobs are usually the least qualified and most out of touch people to lead.

It's all about increasing the stock price. Level 3 has been about organic growth since the days of Willtel and Genuity. It is going to be very bad for some time, then when you think the integration hurdle has been overcome, Level 3 will buy someone else.

Level 3 does not grow sales with new accounts. The Sales reps resell the same customers with newer technologies, the Net increase is usually negative, yet they book them as new sales. It's all a big game at Level 3
