Bartlesville-Dress Code

Does Bartlesville have a different dress code? I was there last week and noticed very few people wearing business attire. Come on people you are working for a billion dollar oil company!

There is nothing wrong with wearing chaps on casual Friday.

Ex-cop guy here. The new company I work for has people that look like they are going fishing instead of to work. About a week ago we got a company wide HR email about the dress code. What it said was that your appearance is your brand. If you want to dress like a vagrant then that is your brand.

Im not going to apologize for the way anyone else dresses because they are just making fools of themselves. Look and act professionally and you will be ahead of 90% of the work force.

If you have a position in the company where you have “clients” then one would hope you would be mature enough to address your concerns about Bartlesville’s dress code (or lack of) with management. Putting it on layoff.com reflects more on your character than how the employees in Bartlesville dress. Just saying.

Never happen. BVO is the bedrock of the company.

Good call. Take them to Houston. It’s very serious there. No laughing, smiling, or otherwise indicating that you are enjoying the day. Clouds of despair are looming over the complex 24-7

On Friday you can wear jeans. You'll also see people stop in to grab something wearing shorts if they happen to have the day off. If you or your clients care about such a superficial thing, then take them to Houston where everyone is pretending to be important.

Who in their right mind schedules meeting on Friday? It is our Sushi lunch day where we lazily take off from 10-2 and then get off at 3.

Personally I like to wear shower shoes and a light coat of babyoil.

I am not referring to field personnel. I am referring to the people that walk around in the flip flops, t-shirts, and leotards. Some people might say its not a big deal, but it is to my clients. I made a huge mistake of scheduling a Friday meeting in Bartlesville. My clients and I were wearing suits while the majority of the population looked like they just got done mowing the grass. There were some that looked 100% professional but for the rest....Come on people you are working for a billion dollar oil company!

Ohh sorry sir we didn’t realize that at other bigger oil companies field staff wears tuxedo. As long as people are wearing clean, hygienic, non tattered, decent clothes it should be no issues. What exactly is your objection about?

Have you seen some of the fashion plates we have stumbling around Houston? Leotards and flip flops.
