Thread regarding Southwestern Energy Co. layoffs

SWN Layoff?

If you do get laid off, no big deal. It’s a losing company, poorly run. Take what you learned and move on. You worked hard, were graduated from college; not to put up with the SWN environment. At one time, SWN was reputable, but this goes to show you what culminates over time with good ole boy back slapping. I’m either all hot air or the stock price is lying.

Lack of leadership, lack of knowledge in leadership, no structure besides the good ole boy group and relatives, schedule doesn't mean c-ap cause you work when they want or your on the sh-- list. Everyone is the same no matter if your experienced or not and the so called leadership is so busy blowing smoke up your a-- to get a body to fill a spot so they don't have to tell the good ole boy group they have to work that you have no schedule. I understand its the oilfield but this place is the epitamy of buddy system . Equipment is sh-- and is totally neglected but sent out to the field anyways cause they have no system or knowledge on how to manage. I currently work here but am looking to go elsewhere before I get on the sh-- list and don't have a job at all.

Thursdays as you head into to summer are not good days for layoffs. Many people will take Thursday off to have a 4 - day weekend when you have every other Friday off. Therefore, Tuesday’s are good. Also, many people take Mondays off in the summer. Just don’t analyze too much.

Our HR department. I have heard they already have a “work room” on one of the closed floors so its only a matter of time. As the other guy said, only 10 more weeks til August.

Are layoffs handled by our HR department or a third party/contractor?

SO TRUE. MAKING LIGHT AND TRYING TO BE A COMEDIAN AND POSTING FAKE NEWS JUST NOT APPRECIATED, HELPFUL OR RESPECTFUL.

I’m sure morale is in top form and office efficiency is at its peak. To continue favorable results, keep possible layoffs hanging over people’s heads.

Well if you say so.... no real guarantees of what’s next . The unknown is always scary . I have friends laid off last time; some have done good, others have sold there homes / moved .. took much lower paying jobs.

Really hurt the plans and opportunities for their families ... not saying I don’t understand — but don’t act like it will all be fine
