Raytheon used to hire by contract I do not know if there has been a change but, when they did it was very iffy how long you would be employed there. But Honeywell is a soul s---er I worked there for 30+ years and I would NOT recommended working there.

I worked Raytheon many years ago, ok place in general, lots of eng work, some respect, but military culture naturally. when I started at H 10 years later I thought it was chaotic, but a better environment, but H aero almost stopped developing new products when Allied Signal stole the name., no real growth here, despite what you hear from upper mgt. Depressing environment, work here only if u need paycheck. I would say now H is tied for last place in overall job sat relating to all jobs i have ever had, even dishwasher.

I left Honeywell Aero at the end of 2017. Have they had any more PEP rallies with VP’s this year ? They were always entertaining for the tap dancing.

Raytheon has pulled top systems engineers from across Honeywell aerospace especially ones with a clearance. If you have an active clearance jump immediately. Put you 25k pay raise in retirement accounts and you will be much better off.

Son went to Honeywell Oro Vallry after layoff in Glendale. Stayed only two weeks. Then quit. They micro-managed him like a McD's worker. No cafeteria there . They scream at you for taking 40min lunch break cause they won't allow you to flex in the same day. His mentor was super paranoid . His mentor would ask "where are you going?" when you get up to go to the restroom . He would brag he sleeps with company phone to be available when India calls.

Honeywell gave raises to a few Engineers to stay in Tucson. They took the money and then went to Raytheon missiles. Oh, they also work with cutting edge technology unlike Honeywell.

Many engineers have already left Honeywell Tucson for Raytheon. The new hiring started awhile ago. Honeywell has had many more Rifs then Raytheon in the past 10 years.

They get 25k salary increase, signing bonus and get to be engineers again and not just babysit engineers in India. One Honeywell VP in a town hall called Raytheon the evil empire. Another said the Tucson engineers should stay for the view of the Mtns. No other reasons to convince anyone to stay. There you go.

It's not even about the layoffs. Everybody does layoffs these days. It's the American way. Raytheon pays a sh--load more.

Compare the Honeywell and Raytheon pages on layoff.com and you'll see a significant difference in the amount of chatter. Raytheon has minimal layoffs to weed out poor performers, not to make financials. Larger layoffs have occurred in their past longer term due to military spending variability, but almost none over the last 10 years.

Raytheon is getting large new contracts,

and investing in growth, building a new facility, getting poised to hire 2000 people.

Any of that stuff Honeywell?

Or just waiting for, I forget, the 4th or 5th round of layoffs in 2 and 1/2 years ?

Any new facilities breaking ground at that place?
