Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Financial trouble

This company is in serious financial trouble. Should have cleaned house at the top first. It’s a shame to see so much talent walking out the door and many being laid off. WS has a bad name and that is extremely difficult to turn around. So very hard to stay positive when you see everything crumbling all around you. Work being moved to people already overburdened, new hires coming in while people with years of expertise are being forced out, no raises, horrible morale. Just don’t see the positive.

Laying people off and then dumping their work on other departments creates a “ghost workforce” for Windstream and saves them $$$. Unfortunately, it is at the employees expense. Eventually, people will wise up and leave. When folks are overwhelmed, mistakes are made, quality suffers, morale goes way down. Add that in with the fact that many workers are already at the point where they no longer care. Companies that treat their employees terribly will not survive these days. All successful companies treat their customers well and treat their employees right, but that has to come from the top. Not gonna happen with the current regime at WS.

Everyone I talk to is looking for their exit. Im talking about key linchpins in every department. Our remaining talent. The load is already burning everyone out. People are losing their tempers because of all the stress. Its going fold in on itself.
