Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Root cause of the current situation - HR

Though BK is responsible for ACT happening, responsibility for treating the employees the way they did, lies with HR and its leader at that time, and RT.

But the worst sin of HR is not ACT. It is the way leadership development was made to happen over the last 10-15 years. Result is that the Management & Tech Leadership of such a high tech company is now 90% filled with bozos. Openly, it is said to become a leader you need to network, not execute.

IT has its ‘leadership conference’ every year, where grade 10 plus eat and drink for a week, shmooze it up and feel oh so superior to the little worker bees. Yup.

agreed. there are many managers who move up rank bcos of network concept like private meeting and private potluck gathering. managers compete on who to invite for party/outings/gatherings network. the successful managers will then passdown their bkm (best known method) to their subs to show off.

@1zaf, if we had good leadership then 10nm wouldn't have been what it is. That is the point OP is making.

Very strong argument, OP! Yes, HR bears a great deal of the fault in this catastrophe. They also are just an arm of executive management. The average employee can forget help from HR even if they have an ironclad argument against their management. HR and management work very closely together and HR has been known to relay private confidential conversations between employees and themselves right back to management. You can't trust these scumbags.
