The rumor is that most development offices are being shrunk to a point of no return.
Like , in Denver 4 floors are being shrunk down to 1.5 floors with all new hiring going on in India (Cognizant).
Most local resources who have any talent will probably leave. So how will they sustain development. How long till all development work becomes so poor that their software isn't usable.
Would like to hear from other offices.

Don't disagree with you about the current state of the Denver office. It was different a few years ago before the gang took over.
Won't mention the name of their leadership because the comment will not get posted. But they are led by a talent-less group that got rid of any serious talent and are killing the company by offshoring everything.
They were in charge of the cloud account that got hacked. An employee from a vendor put their cloud secrets out on github and they got hacked big time. Instead of being help accountable that same vendor is getting bigger deals from Pearson - ha ha.
Btw, a lot of people have left/leaving the Denver office so this might get shut down automatically.
Denver offices were VAST majority eCollege. If you haven’t been there, I would t take up an opinion of defense. This office desperately needed closed.

EB outsourced Manufacturing to Donnelley years ago. Suddenly, Pearson Manufacturing became Donnelley employees.

Sorry to hear about the state of affairs in Boston @TUqu1RP-1zft.
It's the same everywhere though based on what we hear.
There are little "gangs" that pass by for leadership and they are surrounded by their stooges who will get a longer ride. Everyone else is dispensable as they are focused on selling off the company slowly. Rumors are that there are cut moneys involved, explaining why Cognizant gets in more and more teams in spite of the poor quality of their work.
If you read glassdoor comments you'll see rampant s-xual harassment in some of these offices like Boston. Rumors are that its the same in Denver. The main culprit is CW who is always protected by NC ( CT and RS are the rest of the gang.) NC is rumored to be lining her pockets with cut money by hiring crappy Cognizant teams and sharing with her gang.
Boston decided to shutter their company cafeteria and their 501 9th floor.
The work atmosphere is horrid as one has virtually no personal space meanwhile lots of noise (visual and audio). Lockers? Really?
Not surprising, but Boston still lots of dead wood clinging to jobs, protected by higher up dead wood. Boston has a reputation of staff watching youtube (or p--n), playing solitaire or facebooking all day long.
I would imagine majority of development work will get off-shored like so much before it.
I thought big tech might swoop in and buy Pearson's IP to jumpstart their educational efforts. As time goes by, I think less and less of that idea. Pearson will continue to bleed out.

Online forums can bring our the worst in people, and why someone would go on a layoff message board and troll people is beyond my comprehension, but it reeks of the arrogance and a--holery so prevalent in the Pearson culture. I've noticed many people, who were once though of as untouchable, surfacing and humbled on the Pearson Alumni Facebook page. Karma comes for us all, so I'd advise to think it through what you are putting out into the world on an anonymous message board.
If there is one thing that I have taken away from this page, it's that there is a great life after Pearson, and those who were able to survive and thrive in that toxic culture, usually end of doing very well when they land in an organization that appreciates and values their experience. You will too @TUqu1RP-tgm!
Boston has shrunk significantly as well, from 3 floors down to 1.5. Teams are basically on top of each other and fighting for meeting space. The meeting/huddle room sniping is getting intense. It's quite a change from when I first started and Pearson occupied 6-7 floors across two different buildings in Back Bay.
Hoboken has reduced it's foot print. Same for Boston and Columbus. I am absolutely concerned about the size of my severance package - if that's what you mean- since I've been laid off from a company I've worked for for more than 20 years. I have a mortgage and two kids in college. I guess "Always Learning" doesn't apply to my kids.
